2nd All India INTER–COLLEGE & SR. SCHOOL POWERPOINT PRESENTATION CONTEST

“IT KRIYA Ver 2.0”, the second of the series and only one of its kind in India “2nd Inter College and Senior School Powerpoint Presentation Contest”  is presently on. In this era of  Globalization and Information Technology, creativity / communication skills / cognition / comprehension skills are the buzzwords. Inspired by this, some corporate heavyweights are jointly supporting “IT KRIYA Ver 2.0”.

Conceptualized, researched and implemented by :  DEEP BANERJEE - Marketing Strategy & Support Services Consultant, Marketingpundit.com in 2006 - 2007 as the only one of its kind contest in India.

Duration : IT KRIYA Ver 2.0 will be held between July 2008 – March 2009.

Contest Objective : The objective of this 'youth marketing initiative'is to judge the most IT savvy College and Senior School with the best talents in creativity and communication across India. The institutions and their students can showcase their own competencies to corporate India.

Geographical Reach : The contest will be simultaneously held in most of the Metros, mini - Metros and major cities across India.

Terms and conditions:

·      Consent: Participating institutions will have to give me an ‘intention of participation’ in writing on the official letterhead confirming the date & time ideally suitable for holding the contest in one's own institution as the venue.

·      Contact persons: Institutions are required to depute atleast 3 individuals (including 2 Student Representatives and 1 Faculty Member with whom the organizers can co-ordinate matters related to the contest.

·      Clue sheets: Posters (doubling up as clue sheets) and Computer Wallpapers of supporting companies announcing the contest will be put up at strategic locations in participating institutions.

·      Eligibility: The contest will be open to students/ youths in 2 groups, viz. Classes 11 – 12 (ISC and CBSE) & Classes 1st – 3rd/ 4th years in Professional/ General Stream Colleges & applicable Semesters (as on August 2008).

·      Team Composition: Every participating institution will have to nominate a minimum of 15 teams (of two students each). There’s no limit to the maximum number of teams that can participate from each institutions.

·      However, a study department of an institute (viz. Marketing Mgmt department or Mechanical Engg department or Physics Honours department, etc) can participate as an independent entity. In that case each department will have to nominate a minimum of 15 teams.

·      Content and allotted time: Each presentation will be conceptualized with creativity and a large dose of humour and made at college/ school by a 2 member ‘team’ within a maximum time frame of 2 hours.

·      Participants' identity: A participation form has to be filled up by each participating team member. A sample entry form is also being sent along with this invitation. Institutions will have to get the necessary no. of forms photocopied at own expense.

·      Venue: The presentations will have to be made sitting in the computer lab of one's own institution.  

·      Dates: Dates for “IT KRIYA Ver 2.0” will be decided by the institution authorities. Schools and Colleges are at liberty to carry out the intra round of the contest at their premises spread over one or more days. However, the dates must be communicated to us in advance.

·      Topics: A choice of topics for “IT KRIYA Ver 2.0” will be communicated to the respective colleges/ schools atleast 5 - 6 days prior to the event. The topics will be available for viewing in www.marketingpundit.com.

·      Preparation: Students can bring hard copies of the contents and soft copies of pictures, animations from elsewhere. The actual presentation will have to be made at the contest venue during the allotted time. Sound files should not be used.

·      File limitations (no. of slides and time): Each team has to make a 1 + 8 slides (no more and no less) PowerPoint Presentation on the selected/ allotted topic in 2 hours time. The first slide will mandatorily contain the personal details of both the participating team members.

·      File limitations (size): Presentations exceeding 750 kb will be disqualified. Sound effects should not be inserted.

·      File naming methodology: For example, the senior school teams from Mahadevi Birla Girls Higher Secondary School will name their .ppt files as mbghss_itk2_01, mbghss_itk2_02 and so on. 

·      The 1st slide must be in black & white with no clip arts and word arts. The entire slide should be typed in Arial font in size 18. The slide layout should have a horizontal bar on top and two vertical bars below. The horizontal bar will contain the Topic, Group name, Date of Contest, Name and Address of Institution. Each of the vertical bars will contain the Name, Date of Birth, Sex, Residential Address, Phone num, Contact Mobile num, Father’s 1st name & profession, Mother’s 1st name & profession, Class/ Section/ Semester/ Year as applicable (as on August 2008) for each of the two team members.

·      Judging criterion: The look, feel, off-beat content, creativity, extent of humour, adherence to laid down instructions will be the most important judging criterion.   

·      Judging of Intra-Institution Winners: The first 4 teams from each participating ‘institution’ or ‘the department of an institution’ will be ideally ranked by the institution authorities (or by us if specifically requested by the institution authorities to do so) after the intra-institution round of the contest to judge the intra-round winners from each of the participating colleges, departments and schools.

·      Judging of Inter-Institution Winners: Although ALL complete/ incomplete presentations have to be retrieved and couriered to us, only presentations of the best 4 teams (intra-round winners) selected/ ranked by the institution and/ or the department authorities (or by us if required) will be put to common evaluation for judging the Inter-Institution winners.

·      Judges: Will be judged by representatives of the supporting brands and industry experts to be nominated by me. The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

·      Digital Pictures as Proof of participation: Participating institutions need to send me atleast 10 digital pictures each (shot with a Digital Camera or Handycam or Mobile Phone) as evidence of the contest having been conducted at their premises.   

·      Retrieval & Despatch of ALL presentations: The participating institutions will have to make arrangements to despatch through courier ALL .ppt presentations (irrespective of those being complete or incomplete) + digital pictures of the contest in CDs + the relevant entry forms complete in all respect + the 'letter of consent' signed by the Principal/ Head or any authorised official/ faculty member, within 15 days of the contest being held at their premises. All such presentations will eventually become the property of the organisers and are used in any way they feel.

·      Reference Websites: Participants of schools and colleges & their authorities should check the website www.marketingpundit.com and www.itkriya2.webs.com at regular intervals for details. Please follow the instructions very carefully and revert to me for any clarifications.

·      The Rules of the IT KRIYA Ver 2.0 are subject to changes without prior notice.

Results:   

Final results are expected to be announced in April 2009 and will be available for viewing in www.marketingpundit.com. Gifts, trophies, certificates will be awarded to a large number of participants. These will be handed over at the respective institutions in May – June 2009.
